Cyclone Yasi arrived 14 days ago on the coast in north Queensland. Many thousands of remote households are still without electricity. But some places are already well on its way back back to normal. Not so two small coastal villages. In Tully Heads and Hull Heads still everything looks like the day after the cyclone Yasi. For two weeks, the residents are surrounded by rotting food, sodden furniture and problems with the sewers.
cleanup work had begun there, too slow, but they were discontinued due to asbestos contamination. Many of the destroyed houses were using asbestos-containing building materials built.

asbestos is banned in Germany since 1993, throughout Europe since 2005 and in Australia since December 2003. A private asbestos removal is not possible!
